How to play Rushle
Rushle is a daily word puzzle. One puzzle a day. Twenty-six target words connected by a cascade. Every correct guess opens letters in the next words. Free, no signup, runs in your browser.
This page covers everything in one read.
The goal
Solve all 26 words in the puzzle. Every word is five letters. The words are linked: when you get one right, letters open in the words it connects to. Solve enough words and the rest cascade open with very little guessing.
Making a guess
Type a five-letter word and press Enter. Rushle accepts real words only. If you type something that is not a recognized word, the guess is rejected and you can try something else.
You get six guesses per word, the same as Wordle.
After a guess, the letters color-code:
- Green: the letter is in the target word and in the right position.
- Yellow: the letter is in the target word but in a different position.
- Gray: the letter is not in the target word.
The cascade
This is the part that makes Rushle different from Wordle.
The 26 words in a puzzle are not independent. Every letter you place correctly is revealed in every other word that has that same letter in the same position. Solve one word and a handful of green tiles light up across the rest of the grid.
Practical effect: the first few words are hard. The last few are almost free. Building cascade momentum is the puzzle.
Hints
If you are stuck on a word, you can use a hint. A hint reveals one letter in the word you are currently guessing.
Free play gives you three hints per day. Rushle Plus has unlimited hints.
Winning and losing a word
If you guess a word correctly, the cascade fires and the next words open. If you run out of guesses on a word, the answer is revealed and you move to the next one. You can still finish the puzzle even after missing a word.
