How to play Rushle
Rushle is a free daily word game. There are 26 hidden words on the board, one for each letter from A to Z. The letter on each row tells you how that word starts. You have 10 misses to clear as many words as you can.
Every guess hits all 26 words
Type any real five-letter word and press Enter. Your guess isn't aimed at one word. It's checked against all 26 at the same time.
A letter only shows up when it's in the exact same spot in a hidden word. There are no yellows for right letter, wrong spot.
N is in TRAIN, but it isn't 4th, so it stays hidden. The same guess can light up letters in a dozen other words at once.
Clearing words and the cascade
When every letter of a hidden word is showing, that word clears. Guessing a hidden word exactly clears it too.
Here's the cascade: a cleared word's letters light up in the same spots in every other word. That can finish those words, and they clear too, and their letters spread further. One guess can clear six or more words in a row.
Misses
A guess that clears at least one word is free. A guess that clears nothing costs 1 of your 10 misses, even if it showed some letters. The bar under your stats shows how many you have left. After 10 misses the run is over.
So early guesses are for spreading letters around the board. Later guesses should finish words.
Aiming at one word (optional)
Tap a row to aim at it. Your next guess shows Wordle-style clues on that one row: a pink letter is in that word but in a different spot, and a dim letter isn't in it at all. It's handy when a word is almost done.
Scoring
- 100 points for each word you clear.
- 50 bonus points for each extra word cleared by the same guess.
- Clear all 26 and you get 100 bonus points for every miss you didn't use.
Chains show in color on your board: 1 wordx2 to x3x4 to x5x6+
The week
- Monday to Friday: 5-letter words.
- Saturday: 4-letter words.
- Sunday: a big 6-letter board.
Everyone gets the same board each day. A new one starts at midnight, your local time. Your progress saves in your browser, so you can close the tab and come back.
